Judy Douglas has painted some lovely flowers and a luminous dragonfly! 

Dory Joy has painted an adorable rabbit, bluebird and some beautiful blossoms!

The Bench

Huck Finn’s Warehouse has graciously given us a great deal

on unfinished wood benches! The bench measures 36" x 13" x 17"H. 

They are very sturdy with a nice smooth surface--perfect for painting a masterpiece!

Welcome

Welcome to the "Sittin' Pretty ~ Seats for Scholars" blog!  Voorheesville DFS is trying something new to raise money for our scholarship fund--auctioning off hand-painted, one-of-a kind benches.  We've put out a "Call for Artists" to volunteer their talents for this worthy cause.  The benches will be sponsored by area businesses, organizations, clubs, individuals or even by the artists themselves.  After being on display throughout the Voorheesville area, the benches will be auctioned off at our popular Wine & Chocolate Event being held on March 24, 2012.
